DCIO External Wholesaler - Southeast Region (based in Atlanta) at Putnam
We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to fill a DCIO Investment Specialist position for one of the country’s premier investment management firms. Reporting to the Head of DCIO, the DCIO Investment Specialist will be responsible for generating new mutual fund sales through DC focused financial advisors and recordkeeping sales people. This territory will cover the southeast region and will be based in Atlanta, GA. He or she will work with Tier 1 DC advisors, and central research within these firms, to include Putnam’s mutual funds and Collective Investment Trust’s (CIT’s) in their retirement offering. He or she will develop new advisor relationships, manage existing DC adviser clients, and drive DCIO sales to both new and existing clients.
The successful candidate will actively participate in prospecting, finals presentations, fund selection and investment reviews and will be responsible for delivering the Firm’s investment philosophy and approach. He or she will develop an in-depth understanding of the Firm’s investment products, value add services and will articulate these to potential clients. He or she will travel extensively in the region to meet with local Financial Advisors and will also participate in national, regional and DC advisor-focused meetings.
The successful candidate will have at least eight years of experience in the financial services industry. He or she will have a strong understanding of the DC retirement industry, including plan design and qualified investment options. He or she will have a solid understanding of the investment process and have deep knowledge of mutual funds, CIT’s, Target Date Funds, Alternatives and Stable Value Products.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment, including in an external sales role for a minimum of 3 years. Current or recent coverage of most or all of this territory is required. He or she will be highly self-motivated and able to work as part of a team. He or she also will have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to achieve in a complex organization. An undergraduate degree is required as well as series 7 and 63 FINRA licensing. An MBA or CFA would be a plus.
