The Equity Associate is a junior analyst, conducting fundamental research in order to make buy and sell recommendations for stocks. A 6-month training program focuses on building basic investing tools. Once training is complete and the Equity Associate demonstrates readiness, he/she will independently assume coverage of stocks within several subgroups of the market. Responsibilities include detailing the investment case through written research and engaging in dialogue with senior analysts and portfolio managers.
Investment Associates are integral members of the fundamental credit research process, with a focus on investment-grade and high-yield corporates, municipals, or emerging markets. Primary responsibilities include supporting the Research Analyst, conducting company and industry analysis, and analyzing complex capital structures, including valuing securities and anticipating changes that will affect the values and prices of those securities.
Global Distribution Associate
Global Distribution Associates develop sales and marketing expertise by completing hands-on training in seven different areas. Over a period of approximately two years, Associates are active participants in Putnam’s retail and institutional sales and marketing process, including account management, mutual fund distribution, relationship management, client service, marketing, products, and communications. An initial one-month training program focuses on the industry, Putnam products, and Putnam’s sales methodology. Upon completion of training, associates begin the first of seven rotations across Putnam’s Sales and Marketing organization.
This role is appropriate for graduates with degrees in computer science, engineering, or management information systems. The Technology Associate starts as a member of a technology team, developing and enhancing applications and infrastructure at Putnam, in areas such as Investments, Sales and Marketing, Service, Corporate Systems, and Enterprise Services. The program includes eight weeks of formal training in technical, business, and professional skills.
Dealer Marketing Services Representative
The Dealer Marketing Services Representative participates in a training program that focuses on the industry, products, and Putnam's sales methodology. Job responsibilities include fielding calls from financial advisors and answering questions about Putnam's mutual funds, retirement plans, and college-savings plans. DMS representatives work in partnership with Regional Marketing Associates and wholesaler teams to provide value-added solutions to help advisors grow their business using Putnam products. This experience can lead to many roles within our organization, including wholesaling and relationship management.
Investor Service Representative
The Investor Service Representative position provides the opportunity to learn about the mutual fund industry and products and services offered by Putnam Investments. This entry-level role offers a robust training program and ongoing support and resources to ensure success. Investor Service Representatives interact with clients in our call center, providing service and information in response to mutual fund account inquiries. Clients include individual investors, broker/dealers, and financial advisors.
